Licensed child care centres care are for infants, toddlers, preschool and school aged children. They include nursery schools, full-day care and before-and-after school programs. Ministry of Education staff inspect child care centres on an annual basis to make sure the programs meet specific provincial standards for the health and safety purposes, and to meet developmental needs of the children.
